Educational & Engagement Programs
NSA’s educational portfolio combines academic rigor, participatory pedagogy, and experiential civic engagement. These programs are designed to capacitate institutions, organizations, and individuals with the analytical and practical tools necessary to practice democracy, address complexity, and advance the theory and practice of citizenship.
Introduction to the National State
A foundational program that contextualizes the historical and contemporary evolution of the Lebanese state, with emphasis on the social contract, institutional structures, and governance trajectories.
This program equips participants with conceptual and analytical frameworks to approach the state as a legal, geographical, and societal construct, while recognizing its dynamic and adaptive nature.
State of Citizenship
An interdisciplinary program engaging civic institutions, NGOs, sectoral groups, and civil servants in the application of systems thinking and strategic planning.
This program enhances institutional capacity to navigate complex and wicked problems, while advancing active citizenship, meaningful participation, and substantive contributions to community life, institutional performance, and public order.
Education for Democracy
A program that blends theoretical foundations with experiential simulations of democratic processes.
The program strengthens the capacities of participants of all ages in deliberation, negotiation, and consensus-building, advancing both civic and institutional democratic competencies. Participants then engage in modelled exercises at global, national, and local council levels, thereby exploring the distinctions between procedural democracy and substantive democratic practice.
